fMRI of Attention to Movement

Heidi Johansen-Berg, Paul Matthews

Attention

Attention to movement was explored with a distraction paradigm. Subjects were distracted from hand movement by concurrent performance of a counting task. Coloured areas showed decreased activity when subjects were distracted. (see Johansen-Berg H and Matthews PM (2002) Attention to movement modulates activity in sensorimotor areas including primary motor cortex. Experimental Brain Research. 142, 13-24)
